Fall in Snohomish: Pumpkin Patches, Apple Picking & Adventures After Dark
There is something special about fall in Snohomish. Mist settles over the valley, the fields turn golden, and a weekend outing becomes a seasonal tradition. Whether you’re filling your porch with pumpkins, gathering apples for a homemade pie, or looking for a little Halloween excitement, our local farms offer plenty of reasons to head outside.
Here are four destinations to add to your fall calendar.
Swans Trail Farms: A Full Day of Fall Fun
For an outing that brings together pumpkin picking, farm activities, and seasonal treats, Swans Trail Farms has plenty to explore. Its 50-acre pumpkin patch offers room to search for just the right pumpkin, while the Harvest Festival features the Washington State Corn Maze, wagon hayrides, farm animals, and activities for children. Leave time for apple cider donuts and fresh-pressed cider before heading home.
This year, the Great Harvest Glow adds an evening experience with glowing pumpkins and nighttime displays. It’s a lovely option for anyone who wants to enjoy the farm after sunset without choosing a haunted attraction.
Swans Trail also offers seasonal apple picking, but its 2026 U-pick apple season has already closed. Keep the orchard in mind for an earlier fall visit next year. Festival activities and the Glow require tickets, so reserve online before your visit.

Bailey Farm: Pumpkins, Apples & a Slower Pace
If your ideal fall afternoon is a little more relaxed, Bailey Farm is a wonderful place to start. Pick pumpkins right from the vine, explore the pumpkin barn, and enjoy an outing centered on the harvest itself.
Bailey also has a U-pick apple orchard, with varieties including Honeycrisp, Jonaprince, and Cosmic Crisp. Harvest timing and availability vary, so check the farm’s latest updates before making apple picking the focus of your trip.
Admission is free; you pay for the pumpkins and produce you choose. Simple children’s activities include farm trikes, hay bales, and a sandbox. On weekends, kettle corn, hot cider, and donuts round out the seasonal experience.

Thomas Family Farm: Pumpkins by Day, Thrills by Night
Thomas Family Farm makes it easy to build an outing around your group’s interests. During the day, browse the pumpkin patch, tackle the corn maze, or explore activities such as gem mining, mini golf, and the giant tube slide. The pumpkin patch, food court, and general store are free to access, with tickets required for designated activities.
After dark, the atmosphere changes. Nightmare on 9 brings Halloween to life through haunted house and haunted town experiences, complete with actors and immersive scenes. Zombie Paintball and a Flashlight Corn Maze offer additional ways to spend an October evening on the farm.
Choose your attractions ahead of time and check the nighttime schedule when purchasing tickets.

Stalker Farms: For Those Who Love a Good Scare
For a night built around Halloween thrills, Stalker Farms delivers an outdoor haunted experience through real cornfield paths and unsettling scenes. Its haunted attractions include Slasher Family Homestead and Pogo’s Funny Farm, with actors, fog, darkness, and surprises along the way.
There is also a separate, non-haunted nighttime corn maze for visitors who enjoy finding their way through the corn after sunset.
The farm does not recommend its haunted attractions for children ages 12 and under. Wear sturdy footwear, dress for the weather, and review ticket options before arriving. Stalker Farms operates on select evenings through November 1 this season.

Make a Day of It
Start with coffee in downtown Snohomish, spend the afternoon gathering pumpkins or apples, and leave room for an evening adventure. You can keep it simple with a quiet farm visit or turn it into a full day of mazes, seasonal treats, and Halloween fun.
Bring boots, warm layers, and a little flexibility for Pacific Northwest weather. Before leaving home, check each farm’s website for current hours, crop availability, tickets, and weather updates.
These seasonal traditions are part of what makes Snohomish such a special place to call home. Beyond the beautiful properties and familiar streets, it’s the experiences we return to year after year that create a connection to a community.
